Part 2 of my thoughts

The players that play paintball today are a far superior paintball player to the player of 15 years ago they are faster better trained eg. shoot with both hands, snap shooting etc, but they play more of a game behind the gun the older players had more of a "killer instinct".They also were better finishers and were willing to make more bold moves, perhaps its because the player of today shoots alot more and tends to sit back and "hold down a lane" making movement harder.
PSP wants to get back the older players so they make the field bigger, larger bunkers. Every team had a "backman" a guy that maybe was a little over weight or maybe just bad knees and slow what ever it was that position has almost been eliminated.
PSP is going to have to tweak the format that they are using I played at both the 15 bps and the next year when they lower it, we went through just about the same amount of paint at a event. I am not going to be playing any PSP's in the near future and I don't think adding some extra size to the field or bigger bunkers is going to change my mind. The cost of playing paintball is the cost of playing and if you don't like it don't play in a National event.
I am sure that one of the formats will fold in the near future NPPL and PSP are both good leagues but the cost of travel and playing is great and for the average person too much to do both.
Lane is trying to state his case and I hope that the players listen to what he has to say because if you love the sport and enjoy playing the format that the PSP provides then please enter as many events as you can otherwise there will be no PSP.
