Part 1 of my thoughts on PSP's Letter

I will start my saying that a change is absolutely necessary for the sport of paintball and specifically PSP to stay viable .
I have played in 2 PSP World Cup events the organization is incredible the events are huge and ran very well.
Lane and the PSP crew put on a world class event unfortunately X-Ball although a fun version of paintball to play is never going to be the format that it was intended, and by this I mean getting the sport of paintball into a television program to introduce the sport to a wider audience.
Not that adding some extra distance and some larger bunkers to the existing X-Ball fields is a bad decision but the reality of the game is the ramping of the paintball markers/coaching leaves little to no skill is required to play the game.
In my opinion ramping of guns is the downfall of X-Ball the perceived thought of being able to with no effort to shoot the large volumes of paintball means there is no skill involved.
X-Ball created a player base that if you had the desire to play X-Ball and you had a good amount of money that just about any player could raise through the ranks and play PSP's.All that is required is money ,money for gear , money for practice, money for travel expenses, money for entry and paint. Now the PSP is in trouble because in the USA the economy is slow to recover and need to look at a way to remain viable so they are looking at trying to get the players from the past to return?
How about limiting the amount of paint a player can enter the playing field with?
This would cut down on not only the cost of playing a event but also the cost of practicing.
If the players had a limited amount of paint this would start to bring out the skill of the players no more kills through volume but working on field awareness and team work?
